Blue Foundation Album Cover

The album cover that the Blue Foundation has is not the same idea that I was thinking to do, the album is called "Life Of a Ghost" and this is how the album
cover is:

The albun cover is a little bit oposite to the name of the album it is very colourful and looks very attractive to me and I would buy something like this if I was in a shop. The house look a bit doggy and that matches the name of the album. I think that my album cover wouldn't be as colourful as this album cover.

Examples of Album Art Works

Florence and the Machine "Lungs"
This is a nice idea for a album cover because the colours of it really would match the colours that I want to use for the cover of my album. The background of this cover is blue curtains and it has birds and flowers on it. As the album is called "Lungs" the singer has lungs as a neckless on her neck. Also this album cover matches the style of the music.

Amy Winehouse "Back to Black"
I like this album cover because it is quite simple and its different to there. This would be something that I would do for my digipak. I also like the writing it stands out and it is quite memorable.

Pixie Lott "Turn It Up"
I like this album cover because it is simple as the previous one. I think the whit background is not what I want, I think I'm going to go for a black background and in this way I could show what kind of an album is that. A lot of people judge by the front cover, so it is important to have an attractive and interesting album cover.

Album advertisement in magazines

These are the examples of how do albun get advertised in music magazines:

La Roux
I think that this advert is quite simple but makes you pay attention to it. You may not find out a lot of things out of this advert but it has the main bits such as the name of the singer and the picture. Also I like the way the picture has bin edited with shades of red and yellow. The background doesnt really contrast the picture but looks quite good. Also this is the same picture that is used in one of her album covers.

Gwen Stefani
This advert has the same picture as the front cover of the album. The advert has the name of the artist which is Gwen Stefani and the name of the album it also gives sone other information about the album and the date when it will come out. The colours that are used in this album art work are very bright and this kind of colours would attract consumers to buy something like this.

Jay-Z
The album advert is on the right side of the image and it is quite simple but the more simple it is the more visible it is. It is in grey colours and it has three red stripes on it which attract attention. Also the writing on the advert is quite big and visible.

Janet Jackson
This advert has the picture as it does on the album cover because if people look at the name of this album or the artist they might not remember it but the picture would be much more memorable so it would be easier to buy the CD. The writing on this advert is clear and it says the name of the album and the artist and when it is going to come out.

Digipak

There are lot of different types of digypaks and these are several of those:
Standard CD Jewelcase
The standard CD jewelcase is probably the most popular style, and most easily identifiable, on the market. The standard case is two pieces of plastic hinged together. The CD disc is held in a tray insert, which in turn sets into the plastic case. And this is the case that i'm going to use for my digipak.
J Case
The J case is the style of CD case used by most manufacturers to package CDs in a slim case. Most often, CDs packaged in a J case are singles or EPs.

Cardboard Sleeves
It looks like a miniature LP cover, made for a music CD. A cardboard sleeve is a simple sleeve made of cardboard and printed with artwork.
